Description: Human AFP/Alpha-fetoprotein ELISA Kit PicoKine® (96 Tests). Quantitate Human AFP in cell culture supernatants, cell lysates, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA). Sensitivity: 10pg/ml.
Function: Binds copper, nickel, and fatty acids as well as, and bilirubin less well than, serum albumin. Only a small percentage (less than 2%) of the human AFP shows estrogen-binding properties.
Cell localization: Secreted.
Storage conditions: Store at 4°C for 6 months, at -20°C for 12 months. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles (Ships with gel ice, can store for up to 3 days in room temperature. Freeze upon receiving.)
Assay inforation: Dilution ratio of 1:5, concentration in serum and plasma is around 5 ng/ml.
