Description: C5a Mouse Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, Polypeptide chain containing 77 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 9kDa. The Mouse C5a is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Function: Activation of C5 by a C5 convertase initiates the spontaneous assembly of the late complement components, C5-C9, into the membrane attack complex. C5b has a transient binding site for C6. The C5b-C6 complex is the foundation upon which the lytic complex
Cell localization: Secreted.
Purification: Greater than 95.0% as determined by (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC and (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Storage conditions: Lyophilized Mouse C5a although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Mouse C5a should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Aa sequence: The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Asn-Leu-His-Leu-Leu.
